ESS Consulting are experienced trainers in the covert surveillance and investigation industry and have trained various government agencies in Asia and Europe. Our instructors are also exceptional operational agents and carry out investigative assignments internationally. Our advantage over similar training organisations is that most rely on instructors teaching from past experience with no current operational activity.
We will offer the EDI level 3 accredited qualification for professional investigation if the Security Industry Authority implement licensing of the investigation sector. This will be accepted by the SIA as criteria to apply for the professional investigator license.
Who Needs To Be Licensed?
According to the Private Security Industry Act 2001 you will need an investigator SIA licence if you are involved in any surveillance, inquiries or investigations that are carried out for the purposes of obtaining information about a particular person or about the activities or whereabouts of a particular person; or if you are involved in obtaining information about the circumstances in which, or means by which, property has been lost or damaged.
Anyone involved in providing contracted private investigation services will require a licence. This includes employees, employers, managers, supervisors and directors or partners of private investigation companies.
The award is based on the SIA specifications for core competency training for Private Investigators, which covers the necessary understanding and skills required by individuals to operate as Professional Investigators.
The aim of this qualification is to provide the learner with the basic knowledge and understanding to ensure the provision of a professional level of service as a Professional Investigator; and to address the proposed licensing requirements in the SIA regulated, operational environment. This qualification will develop understanding of:
· Preparing to carry out an investigation
· Gathering information in support of an investigation
· Reporting the findings of an investigation
· Knowing and complying with the laws, regulations and codes of practice
